History

Annie Laurie Evans Hall at Prairie View A&M University was built in 1928 as a women's residence hall and named for Annie Laurie Evans, the university's Dean of Women. The Collegiate Gothic building was designed by alumnus Louis E. Fry (class of 1922) and constructed with federal funds and a General Education Board grant. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
