History

Erected about 1904 by the Roberts family on the former homestead of John S. Roberts, a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence, this one-story red-brick commercial block sits on the old principal plaza. Local legend holds that Bonnie Parker waitressed in a cafe here before meeting Clyde Barrow. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
