History

Designed by U.S. Treasury architect James Wetmore, this Classical Revival brick-and-sandstone building at 200 East Main Street was completed in 1917 as the Nacogdoches post office and federal building, opening in February 1918. It later served as the city's public library and now houses the visitor center. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
