History
Quarters R is one of seven Naval Air Station Chase Field buildings individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Part of the officer housing at the Beeville-area station, it dates to the installation's development after its 1943 establishment as a naval airfield named for Lt. Commander Nathan Brown Chase. The station trained naval aviators until its decommissioning in 1993.
