The Noah Cox House, also called the John Vale/Noah Cox House, is a two-story brick residence on the plaza in Roma's historic district, built by John Heinrich Vale in 1853 and sold to merchant Noah Cox in 1856. Cox used it as both a home and a mercantile center and served in the Confederate Texas Cavalry, while the house stood at the heart of the lucrative Civil War cotton trade that flowed through the Rio Grande port of Roma. It is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark within the Roma Historic District, a National Historic Landmark.
