History

The Bailey-Ragland House in Paris, Texas, is one of the city's more substantial and intact Victorian residences, an asymmetrical two-story house showing early Colonial Revival detailing and a distinctive curved corner window. Its original owner, Frank H. Bailey, was a Confederate major, founder of the Lamar Cotton Oil Company, a city alderman, and mayor of Paris. The house is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Historic Resources of Paris.
