The Wise-Fielding House at 418 West Washington Street in Paris was built in 1887 by cotton merchant William B. Wise as a display of his wealth. Clad entirely in brick, it is a rare Texas example of a fully masonry Queen Anne house, more elaborate than most of its style and period in the state. The Wises sold the home to the Fielding family around 1916, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988; its original carriage house survives on the property.
