History

The Washington Hotel in Greenville is a six-story reinforced-concrete commercial building with brick facades and classical terra-cotta detailing, completed in 1926 to give the growing city a modern downtown hotel. The Washington Hotel Company operated it for nearly four decades before local auto dealer J.P. McNatt bought it in 1964 and renamed it the Cadillac Hotel; residents were forced out by 1986. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
