History

Built in 1901, this Carpenter Gothic church was the first church building erected in Van Horn and was used by congregations of all faiths until other churches were built. It later became Primera Iglesia Bautista (First Baptist Church). The building was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark in 1964 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
