History

Also known as the Reeder-Omenson House, this two-story stone home at Norway Mills near Clifton was built after the Civil War, about 1869, by A. Y. Reeder. In 1912 Oscar H. Omenson, a son of Norwegian pioneers, purchased the Norway Mills farm, and the property has remained in the Omenson family since. It stands within the Clifton area's Norwegian settlement, the largest Norwegian colony in the United States west of the Mississippi.
