History

The Reeder-Omenson Farm is one of the Norwegian-settlement farmsteads in the Norse district of Bosque County northwest of Clifton. Like its neighbors, it dates to the wave of Norwegian immigration that began in 1854 and that made the Clifton area the largest Norwegian colony in the American West, where families cleared land, farmed, and built with native stone and timber. The farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 22, 1983.
