History

The Ellingson Farm is one of the Norwegian immigrant farmsteads of the Norse Historic District near Clifton in Bosque County, the largest Norwegian colony in the American Southwest, settled from 1854. It is among the properties documented in the 'Norwegian Settlement of Bosque County' thematic nomination and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
