The MKT Depot in Bastrop was the town's passenger and freight station on the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, the line popularly known as the 'Katy' that pushed rail service through Central Texas in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The depot was included in Bastrop's National Register of Historic Places listing of December 22, 1978. The structure has since been demolished and no longer survives.
