History

The house at 1002 Pine Street is one of the historic Bastrop residences documented in the town's National Register of Historic Places listing, added on December 22, 1978. It contributed to the 'Historic and Architectural Resources of Bastrop' nomination, through which Bastrop placed some 131 buildings and sites on the Register at once. The concentration of surviving 19th- and early-20th-century homes like this one is what gave Bastrop its title as the 'Most Historic Small Town in Texas.'
