History

The Brookshire Family Cemetery stands on land that was part of the original Brookshire plantation in Waller County, from which the town of Brookshire also takes its name. The burial ground was set aside primarily for members of the Brookshire family, though some friends and associated families were buried there as well, with graves spanning from the early 1800s into the early 1900s. The property has remained in Brookshire hands for well over a century.
