The D. R. Glass Library at Texas College was built in 1948 and designed by McKissack & McKissack, one of the oldest Black-founded and owned architecture firms in the United States. It serves Texas College, a historically Black college in Tyler founded in 1894 by ministers of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, and is named for former college president Dominion Robert Glass (1895-1968). The library was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 7, 2007.
