The People's National Bank Building at 102 N. College Street was completed in 1932, designed in the Art Deco style by noted Texas architect Alfred C. Finn and commissioned by local judge Samuel A. Lindsey during the Great Depression. Rising above Tyler's courthouse square, it was the tallest high-rise in East Texas at the time and housed oil, legal, and insurance firms; it has been known as the People's Petroleum Building since 2014. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
