The Parmer County Courthouse in Farwell was built in 1916 in a Texas Renaissance style blending Classical, Renaissance and Mission Revival elements, designed by Amarillo architects Christian Risser and William Townes and built by W. M. Rice. The three-story buff-brick and concrete building features a recessed entrance portico with arches and columns on its west front. Farwell had become the county seat in 1908, and the courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
