Architect Diedrich Rulfs designed this asymmetrical, gabled house with stained glass and wrap-around porches, completed in 1897 for Judge Stephen W. Blount, whose father had signed the Texas Declaration of Independence. After Blount died in 1928 the home served as a rooming house and, for decades, a funeral parlor. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
