History

Idle Hours is a Neoclassical mansion in Beaumont built about 1903 during the Spindletop oil boom, a symbol of turn-of-the-century wealth with mahogany paneling and Gilded Age interiors. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places (reference 78002961) and later became a private residence known locally as Bienvenu Manor.
