Built in 1888, of cypress and Texas heart pine, using square nails, wooden pegs. Restored 1956, by the L. A. Paynes. Recorded Texas Historic Landmark, 1967.

The La Bauve-Young-Payne Home in Edna was built in 1888 using cypress, Texas heart pine and square nails, and passed from the La Bauve family to the Simon Young family about 1903 and later to the Paynes. It is one of Jackson County's documented historic homes.
