Architect W. C. Dodson designed this Second Empire limestone courthouse, completed in 1890 with Corinthian columns, mansard roofs, and a 70-foot clock tower. An electrical fire gutted the building on New Year's Day 1993, and it was rebuilt with help from worldwide donations and benefit concerts by Hill County native Willie Nelson. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
