This two-story buff-brick building at 224 North Guadalupe Street was built in 1915 as San Marcos's combined city hall and fire station, designed by Austin architect Roy L. Thomas. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, it was later acquired by Texas State University and adapted to house the university's sound recording technology program.
