History

The Finch Family Home, a white Victorian cottage at 1511 Colorado Street in Longview, was built by John Landrum Finch, a South Carolina-born Confederate veteran, cotton grower, musician and businessman who settled in East Texas after the Civil War. The gingerbread-trimmed house crowned 'Finch's Hill,' the family's farmstead.
