The Toltec Club building in downtown El Paso opened in 1910 as the home of an exclusive men's social club founded in 1902, and was designed by architect John J. Huddart in a mix of Beaux-Arts Classical, Renaissance Revival, and Sullivanesque detail. During its heyday the club hosted notable guests including President Theodore Roosevelt, Mexican President Francisco Madero, and General John J. Pershing. The club disbanded in 1930 and the building has since served office and commercial uses; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
