Built in 1880 by the English-German School Association, this building is considered Cuero's first school and taught English, German, and Latin to many of the town's early residents while also hosting church services. It operated as a school until 1894, when it was sold and converted into a private residence, and it was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1965. After years of neglect and 1998 flood damage led to condemnation, it was rescued and relocated in 2014 to the grounds of the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum.
