This house on Fifth Street in Rusk blends a one-story Greek Revival section built around 1851 with two-story wings and Victorian detailing added in 1893 by Nacogdoches architect Diedrich Rulfs for James I. Perkins. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, it was the first property in Rusk and the fifth in Cherokee County to receive the designation.
