St. Andrew's Episcopal parish was organized in Bryan in 1867 by settlers who had fled a yellow-fever epidemic in nearby Millican. The congregation laid the cornerstone of its present Late Gothic Revival church at 217 W. 26th Street in 1912 and held its first service there on Palm Sunday, April 5, 1914. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
