The Bryan Compress and Warehouse at 911 N. Bryan Avenue reflects the city's role as a major cotton-shipping center in the early twentieth century, when spur tracks linked Brazos River bottomland to Bryan's gins, cotton yards, compresses and rail lines. Built to serve the cotton trade, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987 with a period of significance from 1925 to 1949.
