This single-story wood-frame building in Lake Jackson was built in 1943 as the local office of Michigan architect Alden B. Dow, son of Dow Chemical's founder, who laid out the company town and designed its early buildings. Designed in the Modern Movement idiom with sloping walls and a bold interior color scheme, it also housed the community's first city hall, post office, and other early services. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
