The Rufus A. Green House stands at 1501 Church Street in Bastrop. Rufus A. Green, builder of the town's First National Bank, purchased the home in 1888; originally a one-story cottage with high ceilings and wide cedar-board floors, it had a detached kitchen. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
