The Colorado River Bridge at Wharton is a Pennsylvania through-truss span built in 1930 by the Dallas-based Austin Bridge Company, opening the river to automobile and truck traffic during the transition away from rail travel. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, it is the last remaining Pennsylvania truss bridge of its type in Texas and was rehabilitated by TxDOT and reopened in 2018.
