History

The Scurry County Courthouse in Snyder was completed in 1911 in a Texas Renaissance style designed by the Dallas firm Lang & Witchell (Otto H. Lang), with M. S. Hasie Construction Co. as builder. Its original central tower was removed in a 1950 remodeling, and a 1972 project by architect Joseph D. Hinton essentially encased the 1911 building in granite, giving it a Modern look.
