Edward (Edwin) Oswald LeGrand (1801-1870) was a North Carolina native who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence, fought at San Jacinto, and served as chief justice of San Augustine County from 1836 to 1838. He is buried in Macune Cemetery south of San Augustine, where the Texas Centennial Commission placed a marker in 1936.
