Horn, who crafted its moldings, mantels, and furniture. After Judge Harry K. Polk bought it in 1901, his wife Ella Burleson Polk painted floral decorations on the interior that survive today. The house was restored by Raiford Stripling and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
