History

The Redlands Church near Mount Enterprise traces to 1873, when worshippers first gathered at nearby Chinquapin Springs; a frame sanctuary was built after a landowner donated an acre in 1887. Originally a shared 'Union Church,' it was used solely by the Methodist congregation after the Baptists departed in 1906, at which point it took the name Redlands Church. The Methodist congregation disbanded in 1964, and former members purchased the building at auction to preserve it for memorials, funerals, and weddings.
