The Robert C. Allen House at 402 Cedar Street in Hearne was built in 1901 and designed by architect William W. Larmour, a generous two-story house combining Queen Anne, Colonial Revival and Shingle Style elements with especially fine carved wood ornamentation. Robert C. Allen was a merchant and railroad developer prominent in the early growth of Hearne, and his widow and then his daughter lived in the house until 1979. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
