The Autrey-Williams House in Newton is a two-story wood-frame residence built in 1912 of long-leaf pine by turpentine producer L. M. Autrey, reportedly modeled on the Malbis Plantation near Mobile, Alabama. Its Neoclassical porch features Ionic columns, dentil bands, a central dormer, and a triangular pediment. Lumberman and civic leader Thomas Williams and his family lived there from 1923 to 1979. The house was listed on the National Register in 2013.
