The Lampasas County Courthouse was built in 1883–1884 to the design of Waco architect W. C. Dodson, a native-limestone building in the Second Empire style with a mansard roof and a central clock tower. Among the oldest Texas courthouses still in use for county government, it was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1965, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and was restored in 2004.
