History

The Santa Fe-Frisco Depot marks Paris's role as an important railroad interchange, where the St. Louis-San Francisco (Frisco) system met the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe line. The locally chartered Paris and Great Northern Railroad, organized in 1881, was the first Frisco property in Texas, and its line into Paris was placed in operation in January 1888. The depot served the junction of these lines that linked the Midwest with the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
