The U.S. Post Office and Federal Building in Port Arthur was built in the early 1900s in the Classical Revival style, funded by an unusually large federal appropriation after Port Arthur became an important Gulf seaport. It was constructed under the office of supervising architect James Knox Taylor and served the city until the post office relocated in 1994. It was listed on the National Register in 1986 and is a contributing resource to the Port Arthur Downtown Historic District.
