Newlin Cemetery holds more than 300 graves of the pioneers of Newlin, a Hall County town founded about 1887 as a station on the Fort Worth & Denver City Railway. Among those buried here are Thomas and Mary Wills, grandparents of the famed Western Swing bandleader Bob Wills, interred in 1920 and 1936. At least twenty veterans of the Civil War through the Korean War rest here, and the Texas Historical Commission placed a marker at the cemetery in 2009.
