Virginia Point Methodist Church, near Savoy in Fannin County, traces its origins to 1837 at the pioneer settlement of Old Warren and is considered the oldest Methodist congregation in continuous service in North Texas. Settlers who had come from Virginia to the Fort Warren area gave the church its name. The present sanctuary was built in 1860, and the site was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1965.
