History

This marker recalls the boyhood home of Thomas Terry 'Tom' Connally (1877-1963), who was born on a family farm in Falls County and grew up in the Eddy-Mooreville area. Connally rose to become a long-serving U.S. congressman and senator from Texas and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, helping shape American foreign policy and the founding of the United Nations.
