This 1964 state marker near Anthony, at the Texas-New Mexico line, commemorates the Confederate campaign of 1861-62 into Arizona and New Mexico, when Texas troops under Henry H. Sibley and John R. Baylor followed this route in an effort to extend the Confederacy to the Pacific. It stands at the Texas Travel Information Center along eastbound Interstate 10.
