The White-Pool House, built in 1887 by Quaker settlers Charles and Lucy White and their sons, is the oldest remaining structure in Ector County and reflects both Odessa's pioneer and oil-boom eras. After oil was discovered in the county in 1927, owner Oso Pool converted the two-story brick house into a five-unit apartment building. The Pool family donated the house and surrounding acreage to Ector County in 1978; it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is preserved as a house museum.
