Local merchants J. G. and F. D. Martin built this two-and-a-half-story Queen Anne house of cypress at 507 West Fifth Street in Clarendon in 1904, with a conical-roofed tower topped by a needle-like finial, a wraparound veranda, and patterned shingles on its upper stories. After several owners, it was bought in 1926 by educator, merchant, and three-term Donley County judge Sam W. Lowe, whose family occupied it until 1981. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
