History

The John Y. Bell House is a historic residence in Cuero, the DeWitt County seat that grew from an 1872-73 railroad way-station into one of Texas's busiest Chisholm Trail cattle-shipping towns. Named for owner John Y. Bell, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 as a contributing property in the 'Historic Resources of Cuero' multiple property listing.
