History
Grace Episcopal Church traces to a congregation organized in Cuero in 1874, whose first chapel was moved up from Port Lavaca. The present Gothic-influenced frame sanctuary at 401 N. Esplanade was built in 1889 and dedicated in May 1890, featuring clapboard siding, a cedar-shingle roof, and a walnut interior, and it was named a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1966. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
