History

John Bailey Callicoatte (1814-1906) served in the Texas army during the Revolution of 1835-36 and is honored as a veteran of the campaign that won Texas independence. He is buried in Bee House Cemetery in Coryell County, where the state placed a memorial stone at his grave in 1957.
